Position Summary

The Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of North Carolina is seeking a fully licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to work overnights in the Emergency Department on a full-time basis. The Clinical Social Worker is responsible for the screening, ongoing evaluation, and treatment of patients presenting with mental health or substance abuse complaints. Professional work in augmenting the primary health care physician in making psychiatric diagnosis and providing psychiatric treatment including but not limited to giving a psychiatric diagnosis, providing supportive therapy and providing resources and disposition collaboration with the multi-disciplinary crisis team. This position always functions in an Emergency setting. This position is 40 hours per week overnight.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Master’s degree in Social Work and licensed in the state of North Carolina.

Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience

Applicant should have Emergency Department, hospital, and crisis service experience.
