Essential Job Duties
Key Responsibilities
- Install and finish drywall, ceilings, flooring, cabinetry, and countertops with attention to detail and quality.
- Perform trim work, hang doors, install hardware, and set windows to meet project specifications.
- Modify and renovate spaces by removing walls, installing partitions, and reconfiguring layouts.
- Read and interpret blueprints to ensure accurate execution of construction plans.
- Safely operate hand and power tools to complete structural enhancements and repairs.
- Collaborate with project managers to resolve construction challenges and ensure timely completion.
- Apply knowledge of at least one additional trade while maintaining a general understanding of others.
- Work involves lifting and carrying up to 60 lbs frequently and up to 90 lbs occasionally, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Minimum Experience/Education
Optional Guidelines: Experience in the Trade(s) areas related to the area of assignment may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
Other Required Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in renovating building spaces in a university or institutional setting.
- Proficiency in installing and finishing drywall, ceiling systems, flooring, cabinetry, and countertops.
- Working knowledge of carpentry trade practices, materials, and safety protocols.
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions in a facilities environment.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with supervisors, team members, and the public.
Required License or Certification
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Must be able to obtain a valid NC driver’s license within 60 days of hire and it must be maintained.
